(Bloomberg) — Ukraine’s southern port of Izmail on the Danube River was hit by Russian drones, Romanian television stations Digi24 and Antena3 reported, showing footage from locals who caught the attacks on video from across the border.

Russian forces struck the southern part of the Odesa region overnight, regional Governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram, without specifying the location of the strike. Some port and industrial infrastructure caught fire and a silo was damaged, he said.

“Russian terrorists again were attacking ports, grain, global food security,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Telegram. “The world has to react. When civilian ports are targets, when terrorists deliberately destroy even silos — this is a threat to everyone on all continents.”

Izmail, which lies across from Romania on the Danube, is one of the ports where Ukraine exports grain by river. Russia has been targeting port infrastructure in the Odesa region in recent attacks since exiting a deal that allowed Ukraine to export its grain through the Black Sea.
