(Bloomberg) — The UK’s RMT Union rejected the latest offers from both Network Rail and the train operating companies, according to an emailed statement.
- Says the offers were rejected “on the basis that they do not meet members expectations on pay, job security or working conditions”
- NOTE: The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) is one of the most prolific labor groups behind strikes that have rocked Britain’s rail network for months
- The Rail Delivery Group, which represents UK train operators, made a “best and final offer” to RMT on Jan. 19. Workers were offered a 5% backdated pay raise for 2022 and a further 4% this year
