(Bloomberg) — Poland has made a decision to transfer a “company” of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, President Andrzej Duda said on Wednesday.

The transfer will be part of a wider effort by NATO members, Duda told a joint news conference with Ukrainian and Lithuanian counterparts in Lviv, western Ukraine. He added that the country is holding “very concrete” talks to build a coalition that would support Ukraine with heavy military equipment. The move underscores a piling pressure on Berlin as the ruling coalition in Warsaw has repeatedly scolded Germany for dragging its feet in providing military aid to Ukraine.

“The war is not ending,” Duda said. “Everything indicates that Russia will continue to wage a war of attrition against Ukraine.”

The UK is considering sending Challenger 2 battle tanks to Ukraine, a move that would mark the first time a Western country would provide Ukraine with NATO-standard main battle tanks to fight Russian forces.

Top defense officials from the US, the UK, Germany and other Ukrainian allies will meet in Germany on Jan. 20.
