Finland to increase domestic ammunition production capacity

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) – Finland plans to more than double its ammunition production capacity by 2027, the defence ministry said on Tuesday.

It said in a statement it expected investments in boosting capacity to total around 120 million euros, with the government providing around 24 million, and industry, the rest.

“The current decision will significantly increase the production capacity of heavy ammunition in Finland, enabling long-term support for Ukraine up to the 2030s,” Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen said in the statement.
