China calls on Myanmar to maintain stability along border through cooperation

BEIJING (Reuters) – Assistant Chinese foreign minister, Nong Rong, called on Myanmar to cooperate with China to maintain stability along the China-Myanmar border, the foreign ministry said on Monday.

Nong, who was on a rare visit to Myanmar over Nov. 3-5, said China hopes Myanmar will restore stability and resolve internal differences as soon as possible.

Nong also asked Myanmar to take measures to strengthen the security of Chinese personnel and institutions in Myanmar.
