Chevron Corp. has been instructed by Israel to shut natural gas production at the Tamar platform on safety concerns.
(Bloomberg) — Chevron Corp. has been instructed by Israel to shut natural gas production at the Tamar platform on safety concerns.
The company is still supplying customers in Israel and in the region from the Leviathan platform, Chevron said. “Our top priority is the safety of our personnel, the communities in which we operate, the environment and our facilities,” it said in an emailed statement.
The stoppage follows an attack on Israel by militant group Hamas over the weekend. The death toll from the conflict has topped 1,100 as fighting continues for a third day.
