(Bloomberg) — At least 21 people died when a bus carrying tourists fell off a bridge near Venice late Tuesday, according to local authorities and media reports.
The bus caught fire near a railway after its fall. Twelve people were missing, newswire Ansa reported. The bus was carrying foreign tourists from a camp site, Italian media said.
“I am close to the families of the victims,” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a statement. The causes of the tragedy were not immediately clear.
