Sika shares slide after EU inspections at unnamed chemical firms

MILAN (Reuters) – Shares in Swiss construction chemicals maker Sika fell sharply on Tuesday, with traders linking the fall to news of EU raids at unnamed construction chemicals companies.

The European Commission said on Tuesday it was carrying out unannounced antitrust inspections in the construction chemicals sector in several member states, as it suspected companies of anti-competitive behaviour.

Sika did not immediately respond to a Reuters email seeking comment.

Sika shares had fallen as much as 7.4% on the day by 1459 GMT.
