China paying close attention to Vivo exec arrest in India -ministry

HONG KONG (Reuters) – China is paying close attention to an alleged money laundering case in India, the country’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday, which led to an arrest of four industry executives including one Chinese national working for smartphone maker Vivo.

The Chinese government has always required Chinese companies to operate legally abroad and at the same time supports companies in safeguarding their rights, the ministry said in a reply to a Reuters query about the Vivo executive who was arrested.

China also hopes that India will offer a fair, just, transparent and unbiased environment for Chinese companies, the ministry said.
