(Bloomberg) — The Philippines will continue to defend its maritime territory and the rights of Filipino fisherfolk, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said.

In his first remarks since the Southeast Asian nation said it removed a floating barrier in a disputed shoal in the South China Sea, Marcos said he’s “not looking for trouble” but is firm in his defense of the Philippine territory. He spoke to reporters at an event in the southern province of Surigao del Norte.
