(Bloomberg) — Prominent Turkish businessman Ali Sabanci and his wife Vuslat Dogan Sabanci were injured in a sea accident off the coast of Greece on vacation, his company Esas Holding said in a statement Friday.
The company did not provide further details, only saying the two are undergoing medical treatment. Demiroren news agency said Ali Sabanci was “severely” injured and had been transferred to a private hospital in Istanbul.
Ali Sabanci is the chairman of Esas Holding and a board member of private airlines Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS.
His Sabanci family controls one of Turkey’s biggest conglomerates. His wife, Vuslat Dogan Sabanci, is the daughter of former media magnate Aydin Dogan.
