(Bloomberg) — Three men will challenge Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at elections on May 14, according to the final list of candidates published on Friday.
Erdogan’s opponents are:
- Kemal Kilicdaroglu, a social democrat who represents the biggest opposition alliance
- Muharrem Ince, who split from Kilicdaroglu’s party in 2021
- Sinan Ogan, representing five nationalist parties including the anti-immigrant Zafer Party
Kilicdaroglu, 75, has been trying to convince Ince to drop out of the race but so far hasn’t been successful. The candidates must win more than 50% of the votes to avoid a runoff two weeks later.
