(Bloomberg) — Netflix Inc. has signed on to air its first live awards show in a multiyear deal with the union that represents actors.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards will air on the streaming service from 2024. This year’s event on Feb. 26 will be broadcast on Netflix’s YouTube channel, with the nominees to be announced Wednesday.
The streaming industry leader is entering the field of live events as it broadens its range of programming — it plans to host a live special featuring comedian Chris Rock in March.
The annual SAG Awards show debuted in 1995.
