(Bloomberg) — Boeing Co. has paused deliveries of its 787 Dreamliner as the planemaker conducts additional analysis on a fuselage component, regulators said.
The US Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the temporary halt Thursday in a statement that didn’t specify the nature of the issue.
“Deliveries will not resume until the FAA is satisfied that the issue has been addressed,” the agency said in a statement. “The FAA is working with Boeing to determine any actions that might be required for recently delivered airplanes.”
Boeing didn’t immediately comment.
The 787 has been plagued by production issues in recent years after Boeing discovered manufacturing flaws in the carbon-fiber fuselage sections. The issue was not considered a safety issue and planes in service continued to operate, but it prompted lengthy halts in deliveries.
Boeing shares fell 2.3% as of 4:24 p.m. after regular trading in New York. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported that deliveries were halted due to a “documentation issue.”
